Our services are accessible and inclusive. We choose to be member-led and do not have a rabbi. Eight times a year or more (as well as the High Holy Days), services and workshops are led by Or Rose, a leading young scholar who comes to us from Boston.
Our Shabbat morning services feature an English language reading and discussion of the weekly Torah portion. We generally have anywhere from 15 to 25 or more participants who join in a spirited exchange that can range from Rashi to Jung to Cynthia Ozick to Mel Brooks. Our members, who run the gamut from the Jewishly knowledgeable to the cautiously curious, take great pleasure in wrestling with text. Even first timers–many coming to us without any real Jewish frame of reference– sense that they have found an unusually democratic playing field. We all recognize that questions are as valuable as answers.
